Conservatorship of the Elderly
There are many situations in which conservatorship of an adult may be
appropriate. It usually involves an older person--but may an involve
any adult--who is unable to care for himself or herself or who may be
taken financial advantage of by designing persons. There are two kinds
of probate conservatorship:Conservatorship of the Person involves personal care, deciding residence,
etc. Conservatorship of the Estate involves the persons money or property.
The conservator must safekeep the conservatees money or property and
make periodic reports to the court concerning management of the
conservatorship estate.I represent any of the persons who may be involved in a conservatorship,
including the conservator, the conservatee, or a relative or friend who
is opposing the conservatorship. I will be happy to discuss your
situation with you and explain any rights and obligations you may have.
I will also discuss with you the potential cost of legal representation.-Thomas Roland
